Notch

Inspired by the concept of Earth Stewardship, I developed Notch to introduce sustainable art made from unique pieces that regularly find their way into landfills.
Together with Kevin Brown, a renowned glassblower and K7, who works steampunk, we create art using reclaimed material. Our goal is to promote a more sustainable ecosystem while also exploring different art styles. From steampunk to farmhouse, sacred to practical, we blur legend with purpose. Check out the collection and be a part of the eco movement with a gift for yourself or someone else.

Gallery Store

We make it a point to design art that can be admired and used, so if you find a piece you like, take it home! You can also gift one of our art pieces to your loved ones. Please do get in touch for more information on our art processes or work.

Genesis of Notch

How It All Began!

I started Notch with the intention of creating sustainable art and reducing waste. Many of our pieces are made with eco-friendly and reclaimed material that is predominantly architectural and mechanical salvage or harvested from sustainable wood. While most people see scrap metal or driftwood as trash, we see it as a source for creating a brilliant piece of art.

The main influence of this approach is from my days in college when a course in environmental science changed my ecological perspective. I also solemnly believe in Genesis 2:15, which is the first command God gave to humans: “Tend to the Garden.” I have made this command my value and belief system and work towards making a deeper connection with our planet. That’s why most of our artwork represents the health of the earth and the ecosystem in which we live.

Themes and Inspirations

Our artwork is based on many themes but mainly resonates with the genres of science fiction and nature. The art we create is for people who are looking for decorative items that will enhance their living space with the aesthetics of steampunk or a rustic look. The kind of artwork we make is not found anywhere else; Notch is the only place one will find such unique designs.

By purchasing this art, you become a part of something bigger and make a connection with nature. If you are an enthusiast of life and all things earthy, Notch is the right place for you.

What is the main concept of Notch?

Notch is all about the earth and its ecosystem. My goal is to keep useful “waste” out of landfills by reusing junk that would otherwise be found in flea markets, state sales, and architectural salvage. I strive to honor the earth and live by the motto of “reduce, reuse, recycle” by creating a connection between art, the environment, and the individual.
